BBQ and Night Paddle 26 Jul 2011

Eight paddlers left the clubhouse, about 6pm, in sea kayaks, for a five mile paddle to Fairlight Cove.

The weather was pleasant and the sea, fortunately, was relatively calm.

We transported two barbecues and all our food and drink in the kayaks.

Another five non-paddlers walked down to the beach to meet us when we arrived.

Some of the food had been pre-cooked (thank-you Diana!) to speed up the barbecuing, and as usual there was far too much to eat, but the paddling helped to burn off a few calories.

The return journey started in the setting sun, but by the time we arrived back it was completely dark, apart from the light pollution from the shore.
