Thanks to everyone that helped with the clubhouse at the weekend.
Hastings & District Canoe Club is based at West of Haven, Cinque Ports Way, Hastings. We are a small friendly Club promoting the sport of kayaking. The Club is run totally by volunteers; this includes the coaches who give up their time freely. Membership of the Club has its benefits, enabling members to use boats and equipment, and use of the best beach hut on the sea front.
With our Club based on the beach, paddling on the sea is our main activity; but we like to introduce members to all kayaking disciplines. We host national ranking competitions including Slalom (where you negotiate a course of gates moving downstream) and Marathon (long distance flat water racing). We also organise regular trips away to provide different paddling opportunities to suit differing abilities.
The Club has achieved its Clubmark accreditation; this ensures that the Club meets national operating standards. We are affiliated to Canoe England and Sussex Sport and also work with our local Councils, Schools and Youth Groups.
We are always looking to recruit new members; therefore we endeavour to create as many training opportunities for new members as possible. If you are interested in joining the club see the 'Try Paddling!' section of the web site.
